Introducing the A Brief Crack of Light Blog
As we move toward the Broadway production, I’d like to share with you some of our experience. Recently I read a very interesting book, Stage Money, and would like to quote from it:
“Broadway creates wealth on the average…Small investors in commercial theater productions get more than financial return; they also get intangible, psychic returns. Broadway has glamour. Investors get invited to cast parties and may receive tickets, CDs, framed posters, show jackets, and the like. Smart investors do not offer any money that they can’t afford to lose, but take heart from being involved in a medium that has an emotional meaning to them. Producer Elizabeth McCann said, ‘If you want to be in the theater, the fun is never knowing what’s going to happen, in a million dreams, in a million years.'”
